Second Life affair leads to end of First Life marriage

Laura Skye, Dave Barmy and Modesty McDonnell A woman in the southwest of England has filed for divorce after she twice caught her husband with another woman. Although this might seem like a familiar story, the twist comes when you realise that David Pollard was caught cheating on wife Amy Taylor in Second Life – the online, avatar-based chat room.
David and Amy themselves met online and within months the two were living together. After two years together the couple married. The couple’s avatars on Second Life, Laura Skye and Dave Barmy, who look a little different from the real life pair, also tied the knot.
Life’s happily ever after didn’t occur for the couple as in February of this year Amy caught her husband’s character with an online call girl (?!). Although she gave him a second chance, she clearly still had her doubts as she hired an online private detective to keep track of Dave Barmy’s movements. In April of this year she caught him snuggling with another woman – the American based Modesty McDonnell.
David says that he was driven away from his wife because her dedication to playing online games was greater than her love for him.
The two have now decided to split but both have found a new love in their life. Dave Barmy has become engaged to Modesty McDonnell and the two are preparing to marry in real life – despite having never met – and Amy has also found a new boyfriend… this time on World of Warcraft.
