Cruise company P&O has adopted a new e-ticketing system to enable agents and passengers to print their own cruise documents. The system will come into effect for all P&O cruises departing from January 2010, with the exception of world cruises for which tickets have already been issued.

Giles Hawke, sales and customer services director said e-ticketing is a more environmentally friendly solution to ticketing and would also reduce associated costs for travel agents’ print and mailing of documents, as well as provide greater control.

P&O form part of the Complete Cruise Solution, a collective for four of the Carnival Corporation’s Belgian-based cruise brands: Cunard, Princess Cruises, The Yachts of Seabourn and P&O Cruises.

Cunard will migrate to an e-ticketing system for all cruises departing from April 2010, while Princess Cruises have already adopted an e-ticketing system, having made the move in October 2009.
