New campaign launched to warn boozy Brits to ‘know their limits’

The Foreign Office has announced a campaign aimed at boozy Brits in an attempt to urge holiday makers to drink sensibly while abroad on holiday and to keep out of trouble.
A report in the online edition of The Guardian believes that the campaign hopes to repair the tarnished image of the British holidaymaker abroad and hotels and bars in the most popular resorts across the Mediterranean have been issued leaflets, cards and posters highlighting the need for tourists to ‘know their limits’ when it comes to drinking. They also warn of the dangers of falling on the wrong side of the local laws, which can be both costly and dangerous.
Beermats, Frisbees and other paraphernalia have also been adorned with the message as the Foreign Office seeks to get the word out. Each year, British consulate officials have to deal with thousands of British holidaymakers who have been arrested or found themselves in a foreign hospital due to an excess of alcohol and it is hoped the new campaign will help relieve the burden placed on their shoulders.
An Expedia poll released earlier this month suggested Britons were the ‘worst behaved populace’ for the third year in a row when it came to holidaying abroad. It wasn’t just the boozy behaviour either that earned them the unwanted accolade as according to the poll Brits are also bad tippers and complain more than others.
