Ever wanted a holiday but can’t manage one, perhaps due to finances or simply not having enough holiday time due to you from work? Well, don’t let either issue stop you from enjoying some time away!

Indeed, you don’t have to wait for your annual two weeks away come summer time, or even your spring or winter week to come around. You don’t even have to take time off from work to enjoy a holiday as now any day can be a holiday simply by indulging in a ‘nanobreak’ – a one night holiday break designed to keep the holiday spirit in full swing.

So popular has the ‘nanobreak’ become that Hotels.co.uk has announced a competition for British nanobreak holidaymakers to win the chance of a holiday to Rio in return for the best nanobreak story.

To enter the competition, holidaymakers simply have to tell Hotels.co.uk about their nanobreak by way of a short review, imaginatively called a ‘nanolog’. This can take the form of a photograph and short description of your nanobreak or a 90-second video of your best nanobreak moment uploaded to YouTube. Alternatively, tweet a review or recommendation for your nanobreak, but whichever method you use could see you in the running for that ticket to Rio.

The winner of the first prize for the best nanolog will win an extended nanobreak to Rio de Janeiro, including two return tickets (economy class) with TAP Portugal and 3 nights’ stay at the 4* Caesar Park Ipanema hotel, while three runners-up will each receive a £200 Hotels.com voucher.

So, whether your nanobreak involves a Scottish golf break, or a rummage around the Camden markets or overlooking the Giant’s Causeway, Hotels.com wants to hear about it.

Full competition rules can be found on the Hotels.com competition page, and the contest will close on 1st September 2009.
